Furthermore, as is customary, CMFW February 2011 organised an Off-Site Programme, including fashion shows and other activities carried out by eight designers and brands at different venues located throughout Madrid.

EL EGO Takes Place on the Last Day of CMFW
At this edition EL EGO changed the day on which it takes place, moving to the last day of CMFW, Wednesday 23rd February. Nevertheless, the event's format remained the same, consisting of five double fashion shows featuring the collections of ten designers belonging to the new generation of up-and-coming talents within the field of fashion.

Out of the total number of participants, six took part at EL EGO for the first time, based on a special rotation system established for the event, which means that each edition provides an insight into the collections of various new designers on the Spanish fashion scene, accompanying various participants from previous editions. All of the EL EGO fashion shows took place in the Lancia Room. At this edition of EL EGO, Burger King once again served as the official sponsor of this forum.

To date, including the present edition, some 75 up-and-coming designers have taken part at this forum, achieving the necessary momentum to continue pursuing their professional careers within the world of fashion over subsequent years. Over the last five years, three designers from EL EGO have gone on to form part of the fashion parade programme at CMFW: María Escote, Martín Lamothe and now Sara Coleman, the most recent incorporation onto the general programme at this edition.

The L'Oréal Awards for the Best Designer and the Best Top Model
Once again on this occasion, CMFW provided the setting for the presentation of the awards sponsored by the company, L'Oréal Paris, the Official Make-Up Artist and Hairdresser at CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK. These awards are presented to the best designers and collections presented at the Fashion Show, as well as the most outstanding model at the catwalks organised at each edition.

In this respect, the Award for Best Designer at EL EGO, based on a prize of 6,000 euros, went to Etxeberría and Luis Corujo. The Award for Best Collection, based on a prize of a fashion report in a prestigious publication, went to Angel Schlesser. The Award for Best Model, which was also rewarded with a prize of 6,000 euros, went to Alejandra Alonso.
