Design, innovation and quality constitute the common denominator of all the collections brought together at the ninth edition of MADRID NOVIAS, the International Bridal Fashion Exhibition, which is due to take place between 5th and 8th May in Hall 14.1 at Feria de Madrid. At this new edition of the fair organised by IFEMA, which will feature the participation of more than one hundred exhibitors and companies, visitors will be able to gain a comprehensive overview of the latest ideas in wedding fashion, First Communion attire and party-wear for the next year 2012 season.

As at previous editions, over its first two days the trade exhibition at the fair will be complemented by the staging of the fashion shows presented on the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Catwalk, which is located in Hall 14.1 itself, alongside the stands. In total, nearly thirty collections will be presented featuring all kinds of styles for brides and bridegrooms, as well as proposals under the heading of party-wear and an interesting selection of ideas from a number of First Communion fashion companies. Wedding lingerie will also be presented at its own fashion show.

The Fashion Show Programme will open with a presentation of the new bridal collection from Ana Torres, followed by presentations of the collections belonging to Isabel Zapardiez, Rafael Urquizar, Emperatriz (the lingerie firm), Charo Péres and Miquel Suay, all on the morning of the first day. The afternoon session will kick off with a show featuring the designs of Franco Quintáns, who will be taking part at the fair for the first time at this edition. The first day will conclude the creations of Hannibal Laguna.

Jorge Terra will open the second day of the programme on Friday 6th May, followed by shows organised by La Boheme 1994, (another new firm at this edition) and Rubén Perlotti. The afternoon session will be devoted to a joint fashion show for companies specialising in First Communion and page and bridesmaid attire, based on the participation of the following brands: Hortensia Maeso para Rubio Kids, Barcarola, Miquel Suay, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Javier Larrainzar, Lovely Day and Victorio y Lucchino.

A double fashion show will then be staged featuring the designs of Paula del Vals and Pol Núñez, both new additions to the Fashion Show Programme at this edition. The Programme will conclude on this occasion with the bride and bridegroom fashion collection from Devota & Lomba.

Volume effects and fine textiles for a new bride

One of the main trends that will define the wedding fashion for the year 2012 season consists of architectural designs that play around with volume, achieving some unusual effects in the most cutting-edge creations. Alongside these dresses, romantic creations featuring a clear traditional inspiration will continue to be popular. A sense of versatility will also become important, thanks to the possibility of re-using parts of the dress separately, both on the wedding day itself and for other special occasions.
