Silk Street Clothing Market Co. (former Haosen Clothing Market Co.) is under the clutches of law as five fashion firms have won a lawsuit against Silk Street for selling fake brand-name goods.
The Beijing Higher People's Court ordered the guilty party and its five stall owners to pay each of the five firms, Chanel, Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, 20,000 yuan (around US $2,500).
The five international firms took the issue to the court when they came to know about sale of pirated copies of their products.
The complainants demanded 2.5 million yuan (about US $310,000) in compensation.
