Hibbett Sporting Goods fiscal EPS jumps 40%

Sporting goods retailer, Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc announced results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended January 28, 2006.
Net sales for the 13-week period ended January 28, 2006, increased 12.8 percent to $120.8 million compared with $107.1 million for the 13-week period ended January 29, 2005.
Comparable store sales increased 2.5 percent in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006.
Net income for the fourth fiscal quarter increased 21.7 percent to $9.9 million compared with $8.1 million in the fourth fiscal quarter of last year.
Earnings per diluted share increased 26.1 percent to $0.29 compared with $0.23 per diluted share in the prior year.

Hibbett Sporting Goods Inc operates sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, predominantly in the Sunbelt, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.
The Company's primary store format is Hibbett Sports, a 5,000-square-foot store located in enclosed malls and dominant strip centers.
