Limited Brands same-store sales rise modestly in March

Specialty stores group Limited Brands has reported a same-store sales increase of 2 percent for the five weeks ended April 1st 2006 compared to the five weeks ended April 2nd 2005.
The net sales increased 3 percent to $788.2 million compared to net sales of $766.1 million last year.
The company reported a same-store sales increase of 3 percent for the nine weeks ended April 1, 2006. Net sales increased 3 percent to $1.424 billion compared to net sales of $1.377 billion last year.
Limited Brands, through Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, C.O. Bigelow, Express, Limited Stores, White Barn Candle Co and Henri Bendel, presently operates 3,565 specialty stores.
