Kohl's Corp celebrates opening of new stores & March sales

Departmental store Kohl's Corporation reported that sales for the five-week period ended April 1, 2006 increased 12.7 percent over the five-week period ended April 2, 2005. On a comparable store basis, sales increased 3.7 percent.
On April 1, 2006, the Company operated 741 stores in 41 states, compared with 652 stores in 40 states at the same time last year.
The Company celebrates the grand opening of eight new stores, including its entry into the Portland, OR market with four stores.
