Many owners consider Palmavela as one of the best events held in the Mediterranean for this kind of boats, real jewels of maritime heritage.
PalmaVela will also be a scoring event of the Copa de España for class RN. The competition will be held in six racing areas located in the Bay of Palma.
Over 80 persons will work in the different Race Committees so that the racing areas can be operational simultaneously, a great challenge that was overcome with success in 2005.
As in last year's edition, the boats with less displacement will have their racing area very close to land; this will enable following the races from ashore.
A complete social events programme is being also prepared by the Real Club Náutico de Palma to include concerts, shows, gastronomy and a very special Hublot diner on Saturday April 23rd.
Hublot: a name predestined for the nautical world.
Born of a combination of watch-making tradition and technical innovation, the Hublot watch was inspired by a ship's porthole with a strap manufactured entirely of rubber. What is more natural than to wear a natural rubber strap at sea combined with a watch in steel, carbon or titanium.
The sea is the innate sphere of life for the Hublot watch. In the same spirit of Fusion concept, Hublot is using today an amalgam of unusual materials such as Kevlar and red gold with ceramic and carbon, blending symbols and materials from the nautical world.
Hublot has set sail in sponsoring different nautical events thus confirming its legitimacy with the sea, and its unique sense of design in the fusion guiding principle, combining the traditional Art of Watch Making and Visionary Art of the XXIst century.
