Dress for Success, the international non-profit organization which assists disadvantaged women by providing professional attire and employment retention services, is partnering with Loehmann's, the national off-price specialty retailer in a week-long nationwide effort to supply thousands of women in need with career shoes and handbags.
The relationship marks the first time that Loehmann's has undertaken a charitable campaign of this magnitude and the start of an alliance between the two organizations.
Loehmann's customers are encouraged to donate a pair of new or nearly-new work-appropriate shoes or handbag at a Loehmann's store during the week of April 11-17th. As a thank you to donors, it will take $10 off the purchase of a new pair of shoes or a handbag valued at $40 or more.
In addition, Loehmann's will contribute 1,000 new pairs of shoes to Dress for Success, thereby addressing one of the organization's most crucial needs.
Fred Forcellati, Vice President of Advertising for Loehmann's, said, "We are pleased to join the Dress for Success organization in their efforts to assist women in need."
Eighteen of Dress for Success' 68 US affiliates, as Dress for Success locations are called, will be part of this campaign and will benefit from Loehmann's generosity. Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for Success Worldwide, notes the impact that this effort will have on the women the organization serves.
Dress for Success, an international non-profit organization, is committed to helping disadvantaged women prepare for employment in today's competitive marketplace. Starting with the donation of an interview suit and continuing with ongoing support and career development. It helps women gain the confidence and independence they need to succeed.
