Buckle April net sales up 6.4%

Casual apparel retailer Buckle Inc announced that net sales for the four-week period ended April 29th 2006 increased 6.4 percent to $31.6 million from net sales of $29.7 million in the corresponding four-week period ended April 30th 2005.
Comparable-store net sales, for stores open at least one year, for the four-week period ended April 29th 2006 increased 1.0 percent from comparable- store net sales for the prior year four-week period ended April 30th 2005.
The net sales year-to-date for the thirteen-week period ended April 29th 2006 increased 3.8 percent to $109.6 million from net sales of $105.5 million for the same thirteen-week period a year ago. Comparable-store net sales year-to- date declined 1.3 percent from comparable-store net sales for the same thirteen-week period last year.
The company will report its first quarter earnings results, for the thirteen-week period ended April 29th 2006, on May 18th 2006, before the market opens.
Headquartered in Kearney, Nebraska, Buckle Inc is a retailer of casual apparel, footwear and accessories for young men and women. It currently operates 341 retail stores in 38 states compared to 329 stores in 38 states at this same time a year ago.
