Sportswear company Nike Inc has announced the official opening of its Nike Factory Store at Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, IL.
"Nike is thrilled to open our newest Factory Store at the Gurnee Mills Outlet mall. The center offers an excellent opportunity to present our brand. In return, we're able to create jobs and, through our community involvement, provide support to kids in the Gurnee area," said Ed Stair, Nike Factory Store General Manager.
To celebrate the grand opening, Nike awarded a $5,000 cash and product grant to the Boys and Girls Club -- Gurnee Branch. The donation is a part of NikeGO, Nike's signature U.S. community affairs initiative aimed at getting kids more physically active. Chris Finkel, Executive Director, attended the grand opening ceremony and accepted the donation on behalf of the club.
"It certainly is wonderful to have a partner like Nike come to our community and care for the kids that need the most help. The financial donations and shoes will be utilized in our sports and recreation program," said Finkel.
The 13,200 square foot retail outlet will employ a total of 40 full and part-time staff. The store is located at 6170 W. Grand Ave, Ste 569, Gurnee, IL. (847) 855-0857.
The Nike Factory Store at Gurnee Mills will carry a wide selection of Nike branded footwear, apparel and equipment from past seasons. The majority of the product will be close-out or overrun product sold at a discount consistent with other stores at the center.
