Japan's Meteorological Agency has announced that the raining season has started today, June 9, 2006. Retailers have had sluggish sales due to unusually cold weather this spring, and the rain gives them little hope for a climb back up.

Printemps Ginza has collaborated with shoe brand “Fin” by making original exclusive rain boots just for their store. This new idea of bringing fun to this gray season is very well accepted by the customers.
“Fin”'s rain boots line was in fact launched after having received many demands by customers to design rain boots.
Takashimaya has turned the gloomy sky into a positive attribute by launching successfully a rain boots shelf last year.
This rainy season, they are going all the way with leopard print rain boots to check prints.
They will also have a line up of original rain boots. Moreover, Takashimaya's original rain boots will match their original umbrellas and rain coats.
Japanese retailers, especially department stores are very firm on not getting influenced by Mother Nature.
