Puma athlete Geoff Ogilvy wins first major

Sportswear maker Puma athlete Geoff Ogilvy has achieved victory with an impressive win at the US Open Championships in New York on June 18th, his first Major in his professional golf career.

The 29-year old Australian, outfitted in Puma Golf apparel and footwear, accomplished this playing on one of the most challenging courses in the world. Ogilvy not only took the industry by storm with his performance, but also became the second Australian to win the US Open after David Graham in 1981.

"Puma is proud to have Geoff as a part of the Puma family. He continually proves his superior athletic abilities and his finesse on the course. This win at the US Open proves his talent and his skill," said Jochen Zeitz Chairman and CEO of Puma AG.

At the US Open, Ogilvy turned heads with his all around game highlighted by a chip-in for a par at the 17th and his great up and down on the 18th. His skill, technique and accuracy led Ogilvy to finish 5-over 275.
