Jewelry retailer Tiffany & Co announced that it will open a store in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills, a premier urban center that integrates business, residential, and cultural functions with elegant parks and plazas.

Scheduled to open in November 2006, the approximately 1,700 gross-square-foot store will be located at Roppongi Keyakizaka-dori 6-12-1 Roppongi Minato-ku, and is the first Tiffany store in Japan to focus on the jeweler's renowned diamonds as the largest and most wide-ranging of its collections.

"We are very excited to open a Tiffany & Co store that features our extraordinary diamonds, and we feel Roppongi Hills, which is a key center of luxury retail activity, is the ideal location," said Michael Christ, President of Tiffany & Co Japan Inc.

"The store will be a dazzling showcase for the unsurpassed quality of Tiffany diamonds from engagement rings and high-fashion diamond jewelry to spectacular jewels, which are at the heart of Tiffany's worldwide reputation for quality and design excellence."

The two-level store will be distinguished by a glass and stainless steel facade, with honey-color onyx framing a stainless steel and white frosted glass clock fashioned after Tiffany's famed Atlas watch collection, an icon of style.

The store's interior features zebrawood display cases and vitrines, limed oak with rough hewn stone and lacquered wall accents, a dramatically designed staircase, Shibori window treatments, and elegant chandeliers inspired by the tree-lined street.
