Apparel retailer Charlotte Russe Holding Inc has promoted Patti Shields to General Merchandise Manager and Ed Wong to Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Patti Shields joined the Company as a Senior Vice President in August 2005 responsible for apparel merchandising for the Charlotte Russe stores. In her new capacity as General Merchandising Manager and Executive Vice President, her role is expanded to include the accessories business and the direct import function.

Ed Wong, most recently serving as a Senior VP, joined the company in December 2003 and oversees the information technology organization, planning and allocation functions and merchandise supply chain. In his new capacity as Chief Supply Chain Officer and Executive VP, his role will evolve with an even greater focus on the strategic implications of emerging technologies and their utilization in our business to improve customer service, operational efficiencies and improved inventory turnover.

Mark Hoffman, President and CEO, said, "In recognition of the strong leadership skills that Patti has demonstrated over the past year, her elevation to GMM of the total merchandising team is clearly well earned. Improvements in the apparel side our business have been the primary driver of four consecutive quarters of double-digit comparable store sales increase for the Charlotte Russe stores as we continue to build market share in junior fast fashion."

"Ed Wong continues his legacy of designing and executing an aggressive strategic plan for the implementation of I.T. and supply chain systems to improve our business practices which directly contribute to our company's operating margin objectives. In his broadened role, his strategic planning skills are expected to benefit us with the implementation of a new state-of-the-art POS technology platform, enhancements to the robust inventory planning and allocation tools installed during the past two years, and exploration of the potential for markdown optimization systems for the business," he added.

Charlotte Russe Holding Inc is a mall-based specialty retailer of fashionable, value-priced apparel and accessories targeting young women in their teens and twenties. It expects to open 40 new Charlotte Russe stores during the fiscal year ending in September and at least 50 new Charlotte Russe stores in fiscal 2007.
