Dearfoams enters Canadian distribution deal with Indeka

R.G. Barry Corporation, the Dearfoams company, announced the appointment of Indeka Imports Limited as the exclusive Canadian distributor for Dearfoams footwear brands beginning with spring 2007 product lines.
The agreement permits The Indeka Group to import, sell, distribute and market various Dearfoams brands throughout Canada. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Indeka has an outstanding reputation and is an ideal growth partner. As a significant presence in the Canadian footwear industry, their team is uniquely qualified to ensure that Canadian retailers receive the kind of high quality account management, distribution, merchandising and marketing service for which the Dearfoams company is known.”
According to Paul Papadopoulos, Indeka President and Chief Operating Officer, "Demand among Canadian retailers and consumers for Dearfoams products, is high; and with this new business alliance we plan to grow Dearfoams significantly in our territory. We believe our arrangement with Dearfoams represents a tremendous opportunity."
The distribution of Dearfoams products will be transitioned to The Indeka Group beginning with spring 2007 shipments. Indeka will coordinate all sales and marketing efforts through R.G. Barry's International business management team headed by Thomas JZ Konecki, Senior Vice President Sales and Business Development.
“Indeka Imports has been a leader in Canadian footwear distribution for more than 30 years. We feel that they are the perfect fit to act as the exclusive distributor for Dearfoams, the number one name in the accessories footwear category,” Mr. Konecki said.
“We also believe that the model we are using in Canada easily can be applied in the future to grow our business in new or underserved markets elsewhere in the world.”
