Oswal Retail draws expansion plans for AOS to offer branded apparel at sharp prices. Identifies scope in the Smart Casual (for men and women) clothing market.

To have 30 points of operation by March 2007. Targets mass retailing to reach down the population pyramid. Targets Young men and women in the age group of 20-28. Targets a turnover of Rs 50 crores by 2008.

Targets a group turnover of Rs 1000 crores by 2010, retail to constitute about 25 percent of its turnover November 10, 2006: Oswal Group's, Oswal Retail Pvt Ltd (ORPL), the leading player in the branded retail market in the country, has firmed up its plans to expand and consolidate its presence in the country through its smart casual wear brand for Men and Women called AOS.

A men and women's clothing brand, AOS already has its presence with 18 stores (both franchise and exclusive stores).

The retail platform offers casual wear with competitive pricing and targets the mass retailing. The group plans to have 30 touch points by March 2007.

The strategy is to reach out to larger audiences by targeting A grade markets in B category towns and B grade markets in A category towns.

According to Mr. Adish Oswal, Managing Director, Oswal Retail Private limited, “Easing of foreign direct investment norms in sectors like single brand retail operations and real estate has come as a shot in the arm for the domestic apparel industry."

"As a result, the Indian apparelmarket is currently valued at Rs 88,340 crores and is likely to witness higher growth in the future too. We are targeting the mass market with AOS and plan to have a turnover of Rs. 50 crores by 2008."
