Jimmy Choo purchased by TowerBrook, Tamara Mellon

Private equity firm TowerBrook Capital Partners has bought out luxury footwear maker Jimmy Choo in collaboration with the latter's management team. Tamara Mellon, President and Founder of Jimmy Choo, is also involved.

Company was established in 1996 in London, its first outlet was unveiled at Motcomb Street.

An investment of £185 million was made collectively by Tamara, CEO Robert Bensoussan and others from the management team, along with TowerBrook, to acquire the high class designer brand.

This move aims to accelerate the shoe brand's growth, with sell out bringing in much required capital.
