Retail giant Marks & Spencer (M&S) launched its largest outlet outside Britain at the Dubai Festival City on February 14, 2007. UK based retailer has invested Dh30 million in the store.
This store, which occupies an area of 64,000 square feet, may be smaller than company's 1,00,000 square feet flagship store on Oxford Street but is double the size of existing M&S outlets in UAE. It has two floors selling garments and home furnishings.
Clothing for gents and kids along with home furnishings are offered at the first floor of the new outlet, whereas women's fashion items and lingerie is available at the second floor.
Number of M&S stores has become five in the UAE alone and nine in all GCC countries. Another outlet is in the pipeline for Jebel Ali side of Dubai. M&S is expecting sales resulting from new openings to raise its turnover to Dh2 billion in coming three years.
