Independent Runway by MINI showcases latest youth fashion

Independent Runway presented by MINI, will once again inspire audiences at the 2007 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival as it celebrates the talent of Australia's emerging fashion designers.

The Independent Runway 2007 showcases the latest in youth fashion and style in an ultra modern runway show creating a fusion of fashion and entertainment. This is an event that embraces music from rising bands and DJ's; energy levels will be at a maximum in one of the most exciting and dynamic runway shows of the Festival week.

Independent Runway presented by MINI acknowledges the growth of Australia's creative hub, focusing on quality of design and innovation. Audiences will be impressed by Australia's fashion future, who include: Dhini, Friedrich Gray, Gail Sorronda, George Wu, Illionaire featuring Danny Darko, Kate Hurst, Life with Bird, Manning Cartell, Material Boy, Maus Cat Berlin, Romance was Born, Silence is Golden, United Construction, Yeojin Bae, Youth World.

Supported by YEN magazine and Dazed & Confused Aus/NZ. The show will be styled by Imogene Barron and Style Directed by YEN's fashion director, Dave Bonney, and will reflect the style and flair of the magazine. The event will also embrace music from DJ Seymour, as designers and musicians fuse together their creative ideas.

Karen Webster, Festival Director (LMFF), says: “LMFF has always been strongly involved in the development of emerging young talent designers. Recently the Independent Runway has been critical to the Festival's role in supporting the Australian fashion and design industries, fostering and contributing to the growth of the Australian fashion landscape."
