Wesley Card named CFO of Jones Apparel

Jones Apparel Group Inc announced the appointment of Wesley R. Card, 59, as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Thimio Sotos, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Card will also continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer.

Peter Boneparth, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Wes was an exceptional CFO for Jones during the 15 years he held that position, and we are pleased to welcome him back to that role. Since his appointment as COO, he has been instrumental in setting the strategy for our Company and executing against that plan. I have no doubt that Wes will do a great job in his dual roles as CFO and COO."

Boneparth continued, "We thank Thimio for his commitment and many contributions, and we wish him well in his future endeavors."

Mr. Card joined Jones Apparel Group in 1990 and was named the Company's Chief Operating Officer in March 2002. He served as the Company's Chief Financial Officer from 1990 to March 2006.
