In order to draw the attention of Indian Women and tap around Rs1700 crore market, Italian major Benetton is planning to introduce a lingerie brand Under Colours.
The Under Colours range will present innerwear, nightwear and swimwear for women.
Benetton also aims to expand in the menswear section by launching boxer shorts and swimwear. It has plans to bring in lifestyle products such as formals, casuals and accessories and launch kids wear range in India.
The company intends for a retail expansion by opening around 50 retail stores by the end of this year.
Sources divulge that the company earns revenue of about 55 per cent from menswear and 45 percent is grossed from women's segment.
Recently, many international players are entering to strike the lucrative Indian market. Etam, the French lingerie brand, entered India by joining hands with Pantaloons Retail, and La Perla, the Italian brand is set to unveil in the Indian terrain.
