Chico's FAS total net sales rise 12.2% to $768mn in June

Chico's FAS Inc reported that its June sales results for the five-week period ended July 7, 2007, increased 4.4% to $159.6 million from $152.8 million reported for the five-week period ended July 1, 2006.
Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores decreased 7.3% for the five-week period ended July 7, 2007 compared to the same five-week period last year ending July 8, 2006.
For the twenty-two weeks ended July 7, 2007, total sales increased 12.2% to $768 million from $684 million reported for the twenty-two week period ended July 1, 2006. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores decreased 3.1% for the twenty-two week period ended July 7, 2007 compared to the twenty-two week period last year ending July 8, 2006.
The Company is a specialty retailer of private branded, sophisticated, casual-to-dressy clothing, intimates, complementary accessories, and other non-clothing gift items.
The Company operates 953 women's specialty stores, including stores in 48 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico operating under the Chico's, White House Black Market and Soma Intimates names. The Company has 569 Chico's front-line stores, 35 Chico's outlet stores, 269 White House Black Market front-line stores, 17 White House Black Market outlet stores, 62 Soma Intimates stores and 1 Soma Intimates outlet store.
