True Religion Apparel Inc announced the signing of a lease agreement to open a branded True Religion store at Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego. The 1,744 square-foot store is scheduled to open in Spring 2008 and will offer customers the entire collection of True Religion apparel including the expanding line of denim, denim-related sportswear and a full range of licensed product.
As one of only three venues in the world with the combination of anchor stores Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, Fashion Valley features 200 stores and restaurants and attracts more than 18 million shoppers annually.
Additionally, Fashion Valley recently announced a remerchandising plan that will include new luxury tenants who have chosen the center to open their first store in San Diego, including Barney's New York COOP, CH Carolina Herrera, Hermes, Jimmy Choo, Just Cavalli, M Missoni, Michael Kors and Tourneau.
This is expected to complement an already existing line-up of luxury tenants such as Tiffany & Co., M.A.C., Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Max Studio, Hugo Boss, and Gucci. The 1.7 million square-foot super-regional, outdoor shopping center is owned by Simon Property Group, one of the largest real estate companies in the U.S.
"With Fashion Valley as the first choice for luxury retailers entering the San Diego market, we will be situated among some of the finest names in luxury fashion," said Jeffrey Lubell, chairman and chief executive officer.
"Our retail stores give us greater control of the True Religion brand and an opportunity to optimize the product mix with denim, sportswear and all of our licensed product," said Michael Buckley, president. "We anticipate doubling the number of stores in 2008 in premium locations such as Fashion Valley, and setting strong foundation upon which to grow as a luxury brand retailer."
