Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation announced that it has licensed Randa Accessories to design, manufacture and market men's and boys' accessories under the Van Heusen brand in the U.S. and Mexico.
The agreement covers belts, wallets, small leather goods and small gift items. A belt program has been launched for Fall 2007, and wallets and gifts will be unveiled for Spring 2008 selling. Belts and small leather goods are priced to sell at retail for $28.50 to $34.00. Distribution will be centered in better department stores.
Randa is also PVH's domestic licensee for Van Heusen neckwear and the licensee for belts and small leather goods under its IZOD brand.
"As our company's flagship brand, Van Heusen has a rich heritage that continues to grow both in the scope of its product and geographical reach," said Allen Sirkin, President and Chief Operating Officer of PVH.
"Randa has been an integral part of the brand's enduring power and, with its expertise and strength in men's and boys' accessories, we're extremely confident that this product extension for the Van Heusen name is in the best possible hands."
Randa is among the world's largest marketers of men's accessories. With headquarters in St. Rose, La., and principal sales offices in New York, the company supports design facilities in New York, Chicago, London and in Italy and manufactures in the U.S., Italy and China.
"We see the addition of the Van Heusen label as an ideal complement to our brand portfolio," said Terry Tackett, Senior Vice President of leather goods at Randa.
"This is an excellent opportunity to expand on the almost quarter of a century partnership we've enjoyed with both Van Heusen and PVH. Our initial effort in belts has been received extremely well and, with such a firm foundation built for the brand, we expect to have a similar impact with the other additions to our assortment."
