Gitanjali to set up luxury mall in city of joy, Kolkata

Gitanjali Group the pioneers in branded jewellery will establish its footprints in the culturally rich city of Kolkata.
The company would be making huge investments in the Mani Kanchan project along with setting up an institute to train people in the art of jewellery manufacturing, diamond cutting and polishing.
The institute will produce approximately 10000 skilled personnel over the next 5 years to meet the shortage faced by the gems and jewellery industry. The Group intends to start its exports in the next 2- 3 months from the existing module at the Mani Kanchan SEZ.
Mr. Mehul Choksi, Chairman - Gitanjali Group met the Industry Minister of West Bengal, Mr. Nirupam Sen & Industry Secretary, Dr. Sen to finalize on the developments of the following projects in Kolkata.
Speaking on the groups Kolkata foray Mr. Choksi said “Kolkata is one of the leading cities in the country and geographically close to 4 countries there by becoming our preferred city to venture in.”
Gitanjali Group will also set up its state of the art luxury mall in Kolkata, for which the company has acquired 100,000 square feet of space in Axis Mall in New Town built by the Bengal Peerless.
The mall would sell close to hundred international brands including jewellery under one roof. Speaking on the venture Mr. Anuj Rakyan, V. P. – Retail - Gitanjali Group said “We realized that the Indian consumer is becoming brand conscious and does not mind investingin brands of their choice."
