Dev r Nil's exotic weaves mesmerizes LFW

Dev r Nil dreamt of their collections in the most exotic weaves, colours and styles for Spring/Summer 2008 so their presentation at the Lakme Fashion Week had the tranquil qualities of daffodil yellows, Paris pinks and acid green along with pearly white and sensuous chocolate.

From flowing floral prints to pretty embroidered patches, sequined hemlines, metallic borders, appliqués, kimono sleeves; the pair moved to prints, bubble pocket detailing, 3D floral embroidery and pin tucking for fabrics that were cool and fluid like the floating cotton voiles and organdie cotton, silk organza and jersey along with light linen and viscose blended for ideal summer wear.

The duo kept their silhouettes very simple to high light the elegance of their garments so dresses, tunics and pinafores along a few saris with contemporary blouses completed the fusion look.

Tie and dyed cotton made a pretty sequined bolero jacket, while cotton jersey with the similar tunic had discreet glitter. Metallic dazzle was reserved for small patches on boleros and sleeves.

Striking summer wear was the Paris pink and white cotton trapeze top with organic cotton skirt with geometric embroidery on hem.

The cotton trousers with spacious bubble pockets and the beige cotton voile box pleated top with metallic neckline worn with an embroidered 'A' line skirt were other eye catchers.

The accompanying elegant Nina Ricci watches were by Bezel, Gitanjali Groups. Spring and summer the season of fun and frolic will also be a time for some “Happy Together” sartorial preferences just as Dev r Nil probably visualized it.
