Mr. Kanchan Pant as MD of VF Arvind Brands

VF Corporation announced that Kanchan Pant has been named Managing Director of VF Arvind Brands Private Ltd, VF's majority-owned joint venture in India.
Pant has 20 years of branded apparel and retailing business experience in India and other international markets. He most recently served as the Managing Director and CEO of Indus League Clothing Ltd, a $60 million multi-brand apparel retailing business that he co-founded and is now part of the Future Group.
Pant previously was a member of the management team that started and grew the Madura Garments business in the 1990's and was the first brand manager for the Van Heusen business during its launch and roll-out in India. Pant also spent three years in London with the fashion retail business of Coats Viyella Plc. He is a graduate of IIT Chennai and IIM Kolkata.
Pant will report to Aidan O'Meara, President - VF Asia Pacific, and will be based in Bangalore, India.
"India is one of VF's biggest geographical growth opportunities and we are delighted to have somebody of Kanchan's caliber and experience to lead our team. He will focus on growing our existing Lee, Wrangler, Nautica, Kipling and JanSport brand businesses, while evaluating the many other opportunities that VF's extensive brand portfolio will present in the future in this dynamic and exciting part of the world," O'Meara said.
VF formed the joint venture in 2006 with The Arvind Mills Ltd to design, market and distribute VF-branded products in India.
