Marchpole announces license partner for menswear ranges

Marchpole Holdings plc announces that it received notification on 27 November 2007 from Emanuel Ungaro SAS, a licensee partner for the Emanuel Ungaro and Ungaro Homme menswear ranges, that it has bought 843 747 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 3.11% of the Company's issued share capital.
Michael Morris, Executive Deputy Chairman of Marchpole, commented: 'This is an endorsement of the House of Ungaro's commitment to the Company. This investment decision has been made based on the strength of our ongoing partnership with the Group, alongside the success of our flagship store opening programme to date, as well as the anticipated expansion of the Company and its store portfolio.'
Marchpole Holdings Plc was incorporated on 20th June 1973 under the name Marchpole Ltd as a designer, manufacturer and distributor of fashion merchandise. In 1985 the company was awarded its first license for Yves Saint Laurent men's formalwear in the UK and Eire.
Marchpole will be launching the diffusion Ungaro Homme collection in the UK from Spring/Summer 2007. This collection will be priced at similar levels to the current YSL ranges which the Directors expect to have significant mass market appeal across Marchpole's existing customer base.
