L'Oreal Fashion week just got a little more Fabulous and the fashion industry is taking note. Set to take place October 20th -25th, Canada's fashion elite will soon assemble under the tented house of fashion built by the Fashion Design Council of Canada in Nathan Phillips Square. Spring 2009 celebrates the 16th season of Fashion Week in Toronto.

This season is all about flaunting your "Fabulous" through fashion. Attitudes do the talking as style mavens and industry insiders unite for the five day bi-annual event.

Produced by the Fashion Design Council of Canada, the week of festivities puts the spotlight on Canada's top fashion talent and international innovators while bringing up-and-coming designers into the media limelight. Over 50 designers from across the country unite under one roof to strut their wares.

Embodying true elegance, iconic Canadian designer Alfred Sung will open the week celebrating love through a fashion show featuring his stunning bridal collection.

Fashion Week veterans David Dixon, Pink Tartan, Joeffer Caoc and Joe Fresh will unveil collections securing their reign as Canada's top talent.

Montreal's Renata Morales, Andy The-Anh and Denis Gagnon are poised to once again wow all in attendance; while Katya Revenko, Lucian Matis, Evan Biddell, Evan and Dean, League of Lovers and Thieves among others are sure to impress as they establish themselves amongst Canada's most stylishly set.

Adding an exciting new element of "Fabulous" to the mix is "The Studio": a private 200 seat tent that will play host to a hand picked inaugural group of designers.

Perfect for a more intimate preview this thrilling new component is just another example of the growth Robin Kay and the Fashion Design Council of Canada continue to cultivate for fashion in Canada.

"From humble beginnings to great new heights in the Tents at Nathan Phillips Square, the word "Fabulous" encompasses all that L'Oreal Fashion Week has come to be," says Robin Kay, President FDCC.

Spring 2009 L'Oreal Fashion Week campaign can be seen on, and will be gracing the pages of The Daily on September 8th and 10th, bringing Fabulous south of the border.

Registration can be completed online and is now live. Passes can only be picked up on October 15th between 10:00am and 6:00pm at the Drake Hotel 1150 Queen Street West. There is no pass pick up available onsite.

Do not miss what is sure to be a Fabulous 16th season. Consumers are once again welcome to attend the weeklong event (with the exception of BIO By Invite Only shows) and may purchase day passes online exclusively at F-List, October 1st 2008.

The Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) was founded in 1999 with the specific mandate to brand fashion in Canada. A non-governmental, not for profit national association, the FDCC has successfully built a fashion week that commands international respect and encourages continued economic trade and profile of our industry.
