Susil S Dungarwal joins 'The Loot', as CEO Multi-branded discount store model Mumbai, October 24, 2005… Susil S. Dungarwal has recently joined The Loot, multi-branded discount store, offering customers a wide range of products with a minimum of 30 percent & going up to 70 percent discounts - throughout the year.
Susil's key responsibility would be to spearhead the growth and the expansion plans of The Loot. He would also focus on personnel training and will pay great attention in preparing the back end to take growth of The Loot to about 100 stores by the year 2008-09. The Loot started off as a franchisee of various brands & later moved into the current format of “Value Retailing” in mid 2004.
Post the launch and the stupendous success of the first store in the year 2004, The Loot has set up 11 outlets, which are currently operational. The Loot's strength as a retailer lies in proper procurement & an excellent supply chain management. This helps in getting better pricing from the manufacturer and thereafter passing the benefit on to the consumer.
Prior to joining The Loot, Susil headed the retail division of the Hiranandani Group – Lakewood Malls Pvt Ltd, since 1999 and was instrumental in the success of their multi-segment retail stores, namely The Loft, Culture Shop and Haiko Supermarket. Susil was instrumental in launching Haiko and Loft, which has set benchmarks in the super specialty retail, formats namely supermarket and footwear, segments.
