The London Fashion Week (LFW) September 2023 is set to unfold from September 15-19, 2023, in a digital-physical hybrid format. The fashion event aims to showcase a cadre of 137 brands through 111 physical and 36 digital activations.

The event plans to offer a rich variety of programmes including 49 catwalk shows, 15 presentations, and 47 events, spearheaded by 82 scheduled designers. A notable feature of the event is the digital DiscoveryLAB, established in 2018 to foster emerging designers yet to fulfil the criteria for the main schedule. This year it introduces 15 new designers including Adrianne Weber and Marianava, providing them with a platform to shine, the British Fashion Council (BFC) said in a press release.

Marking their debut this season are several brands including Denzilpatrick and Kilentar, in addition to a host of BFC NewGen designers unveiling their creations for the first time at LFW. The BFC NewGen Show Space will resurrect at The Old Selfridges Hotel.

The ‘Support Ukrainian Fashion’ initiative will also be spotlighted, presenting works of Ukrainian designers like Elenareva and Kseniaschnaider, a collaboration brought to life by LFW and Ukrainian Fashion Week in the aftermath of the war.

An unprecedented fiesta of creativity and innovation awaits Londoners with the City Wide Celebration running from September 13-19. It houses over 450 activations spread across 150 brands, promising an immersive public engagement.

LFW also heralds the opening of the exhibition entitled ‘Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion’ sponsored by Alexander McQueen and curated by Sarah Mower MBE. The exhibit, a collaborative effort between BFC and The Design Museum, pays homage to the 30th anniversary of the BFC NewGen showcasing initiative, bringing to fore the journey of over 300 young British designers who have left an indelible mark on the global fashion scene.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere are limited edition tote bags reflecting the essence of BFC NewGen, crafted by alumni designers in partnership with Bags of Ethics. The accessories world also witnesses the collaboration between TONI&GUY, LABEL.M, and NewGen 30, unveiling sustainable velvet designer cosmetic bags, available from the inaugural day of the LFW at TONI&GUY salons.
