After the conclusion of a successful Lakmé Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2011 on March 15, LFW has announced dates for its next season – Lakmé Fashion Week Winter / Festive 2011 will be held from August 17 to August 21, 2011 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.

Lakmé Fashion Week commences a month prior than its previous seasons and focuses on the current/upcoming season, which allows the designers to ship their merchandise to stores so customers can purchase for the forthcoming Winter/Festive season. Thus the dates for Winter/Festive have been advanced so as to provide the designers and buyers, enough lead time to plan participation and execute business as per the requirements of the growing local market.

Weaving in the importance of festivals in our culture, LFW Winter/Festive 2011 will showcase India's most talented designers in Prêt and Couture on one platform. The upcoming season will not only bring new talent to the forefront but take lead with interesting initiatives promoting the Indian fashion industry.

Talking about the upcoming season, Anil Chopra, CEO, Lakmé Lever said, “Lakmé Fashion Week stands for talent, innovations and undertaking strategic decisions directed to boost business of fashion. Basis the feedback received from our stakeholders and guidance of the LFW Advisory board, we have advanced the dates for upcoming season – LFW Winter / Festive 2011 to help designers-buyers plan their business accordingly. Festivals are integral to the Indian culture and play an important role in driving trade across industries with major focus on beauty and fashion. Keeping in mind the high consumer spends and transactions ahead of these festivals and celebrations, the season will focus on Winter/Festive collections.”

Sharing his views, Ravi Krishnan, Managing Director, IMG South Asia and Senior Vice President, IMG adds, “As India's premier fashion and trade event, LFW remains at the forefront, by creating a platform that promises evolving growth opportunities for all stakeholders, international standards of operating excellence, promotion of new talent and providing the most significant and commercially relevant platform for sponsor association. With Winter Festive 2011, we look forward to widening our connect with both designers, domestic and International buyers besides taking ahead our active online engagement program to the next level.”

The recently concluded LFW Summer/Resort saw 78 designers, over 200 buyer registrations, 16 sponsors and partners across different industries participate in the event.

Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) is jointly organised by Lakmé, the No.1 cosmetics and beauty services brand in India and IMG, the global leader in fashion weeks and event production. LFW has been conceived and created with a vision to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world”. LFW is organized twice every year.
