After a gap of few years, Australian fashion designer Peter Morrissey has once again become the sole owner of the Morrissey brand after an agreement was reached between him and M Webster Holdings.
The Morrissey label was founded by the fashion designer, who ruled the Australian fashion industry in the 1980s, in 1997. But that business was acquired by the Oroton Group in 2000, which subsequently sold it to M Webster Holdings in 2006.
The designer lost the right to use his brand name in 2009, when the Morrissey business was closed by M Webster Holdings.
Meanwhile, he had started Big W clothing range, 'Man & Woman by Peter Morrissey', which the designer plans to continue.
The Sydney designer now plans to rejuvenate the Morrissey label with new ideas and product lines that may include an apparel line.
