Crimson Mim reveals 1st annual Shoe Coups list

Kate Moss
Crimson Mim, high-fashion specialty boutique located in Los Altos, unveiled its first annual list of Shoe Coups.

With women more and more pressed for time, customer bewilderment at the constant change in fashion from season to season, and no end in sight to the booming denim market, it is clear that the fashion industry is becoming more and more dominated by carefully chosen accessories like shoes.

In that spirit, Crimson Mim, which has a cult following of style mavens from as far away as London, compiled this list of 2005 Shoe Coups to laud the signature styles of 2005 and the celebrity ambassadors of that turned the fashion industry on its ear.

These selections are based on widely-reported fashion successes of 2005.

The 2005 Crimson Mim Shoe Coups go to:

The Flat -- Kate Moss
Flats came to everyone's attention this year as gamine girl Kate Moss stepped daintily into 2005 with an air of understated chic that only the flat conveys.

Moss was spotted numerous times in her flat black slippers in London and walking all over NYC in her favorite pair.

The model's color of choice, simple black, underscores the ease and elegance of the look -- be it casual or formal. Moss makes flats look feminine with both skirts and jeans. This versatility made the flat the unexpected "go-to" for Hollywood and fashion industry sirens in 2005.

The Wedge -- Heidi Klum
Wedge heels made their mark on 2005 by effortlessly melding style and comfort in an eye-catching new form. Irresistibly wearable, the wedge showed up on everything from sandals to boots to heels.
