HK Intl Jewellery Show to feature fine jewellery

Pearl of Orient, Hong Kong, will give extra sparkles when the annual event of the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show to take place from March 6-9, 2006 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The 2005 event was another record-breaking success with more than 1,500 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions participating. It was filled with buyers busily browsing at the fairground in search of their preferred items. The fair closed with a total attendance of 26,753 buyers, resulting a record-high participation. The 2005 fair statistics:

Total number of exhibitors: 1,547, up 12 percent from 2004
Total number of buyers: 26,753, up 7 percent from 2004
Buyers from outside Hong Kong: 14,484, up 18 percent from 2004
Buyers from top 10 countries and regions: The Chinese mainland, USA, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Korea, Australia, India and Italy

Reputed as the fastest growing jewellery show and a genuine trade event in the region, the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2006 will pride itself again with an even bigger participation of over 1,800 exhibitors, including group pavilions from Belgium, the Chinese mainland, Dubai, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, US, International Colored Gemstone Association, Japan Jewellery Association, Japan Jewellery Designers' Association and Platinum Guild International, as well as the first time participant - the Philippines.

The overwhelming demand renders the fair to spill over to the new exhibition space of Hall 7, anchoring 300 more exhibitors.
