Alleira Batik, a high-end Indonesian batik house, has unveiled its first collection of men's shirts at a fashion show titled “Urban Meets Nature”.
About 20 men's shirts with bold batik patterns and colours were displayed at the fashion show. The shirts had metal zippers and embellished shoulder straps. A patch of fabric called yokes was also attached on the upper back of the shirts.
The fashion show was organized in four parts. The first part called “Lapis Lazuli Sea” displayed men's shirts in deep blue colours. These shirts had splashes of burgundy, green and orange. The traditional batik designs were blended with geometrical shapes.
The second part called “Humble Earth” showcased men's shirts in purple, brown and blue shades. There was also a shirt that had brown colour on one side and a combination of black, purple and terracotta hues on the other.
“Before Sunset” was the third part which presented batik shirts worn over sarongs. The shirts had indigo and other hues that are reminiscent of a sunset.
The fourth part “Terracotta Sunset” was a tribute to Chinese New Year and featured shirts in solid orange and red hues.
The new line has shirts that are 10 centimetres less around the waist than the normal shirts.
