West 49 hires Paul Beaumont as new COO

Specialty retailer West 49 Inc announced that Paul Beaumont has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Beaumont has more than 20 years experience in retail operations, primarily in the apparel industry. Since August 2005, Beaumont has been a consultant to West 49.
"Paul's extensive operational experience in the retail apparel industry will be valuable as execute strategy to expand the West 49 concept, growing multiple banners across Canada," said Sam Baio, President and Chief Executive Officer, West 49 Inc.
"As a consultant over the past six months, Paul has become a valued member of the West 49 team. All look forward to his continuing contribution as focus on building value for shareholders."
Beaumont's experience in the apparel industry includes six years at GAP Canada where he held several increasingly senior operational management roles. As Director Store Operations, he was responsible for most aspects of retail operations nationwide and was instrumental in the chain's growth in Canada during his tenure.
Beaumont was also a Senior Consultant with Karabus Management Consultants, a leading Canadian retail management-consulting firm, where he specialized in operational best practice management, advising a variety of national retailers in several sectors, including the apparel sector.
Most recently,Beaumont was Vice President – Store Operations for Vancouver-based A&B Sound Ltd., a leading retailer of home and car entertainment products, music and movies in Western Canada, where he was responsible for all facets of the retail operations of 21 stores.
