Gucci launches Women's Spring Summer 2013 Collection. Minimalist shapes. Absolute colors. Exotic hints. A new aesthetic dynasty. Elegant. Sophisticated. Essential. For Spring Summer 2013, a fusion of purism and sensual accents. Flashes of skin through artful cutouts. Patent accessories for a playful fetish. “These are portraits of aristocratic women,” explains Creative Director Frida Giannini. “Evoking a strong allure with a clean, precise, defined aesthetic. The inspiration started with Richard Avedon and Gian Paolo Barbieri’s historic photographs of their female icons.”

SILHOUETTE

Aristographic. Tunic effects, with linear outerwear, shirt-jackets, high-neck blouses to wear with soft pants. Mini dresses with a cocoon shape or super long tapered dresses. Outwardly serious, uncovered by deep slits and clever cuts on the back – like a Lucio Fontana canvas.

A colour palette of nuances from sharp azalea, citrus yellow, electric blue. Layers of gazar for tiered waves to design necklines. Bell sleeves to give volume to cocktail dresses. Choker necklaces and trompe l’oeil, with coral and turquoise applications. A touch from the Orient in the prints: sea anemone from Japanese wallpaper for pajama-style outfits. The snake-style pattern, printed on tunics and pants, using fibers from Japanese paper. Or in exotic silk lamè jacquard like python.

EVENING

Total black. Total white. Alternating with precision and sharpness. Organza mixed with embroidered tulle in a geometric net. From kimono style, imposing tiers on sleeves to redefine the lines of a column dress in shiny white. Transforming into a dreamlike sculpture.

ACCESSORIES

Painted love. An articulate passion for patent in high chromatic intensities but always paired with the nuance of the dresses, for a singular vision. Cage sandals with ankles decorated by the horsebit. Booties to wear underneath pants. Shoulder bags alternate with clutches in plexiglass carved for precious gemstone patterns. Recalling the bold stones of bijoux in colorful resin. Shining brightly.
