Following the bon voyage cocktail hosted by Tommy Hilfiger at his residence at the Plaza on the last day of New York Fashion Week, the showroom opened its doors on Saturday, September 29 in Paris.
“The exposure during Paris Fashion week is a unique opportunity that supports emerging American designers in building sustainable businesses and finding continued success in the industry,” said Tommy Hilfiger. Diane von Furstenberg, president of the CFDA, joined him in wishing the designers good luck.
On Friday, September 28th, Tommy Hilfiger hosted a celebratory dinner with all participating designers, representatives from Vogue and the CFDA at The Fat Radish, a popular New York restaurant pop-up in Paris. Socialites and it-girls Hanneli Mustaparta, Elettra Weideman, Princess Deena, Dree Hemingway, Natalie Joos, Julias Sarr-Jamois and Emily Weis also joined this Americans in Paris evening.
This year, the showroom moved to a new location, just off the Champs Elysées and all designers showed their Spring/Summer 2013 collections, ranging from womenswear, menswear, hats and fine jewellery, to international press, buyers and VIPs attending Paris Fashion week.
