Numerous events ensure plenty of stimulation during CPD DÜSSELDORF. As an international meeting place for the business of fashion, CPD DÜSSELDORF brings market leaders together. Most importantly, it promotes market communication.

The GermanFashion fashion association awards the ModeMedien prize in 2006 for the second time. This exclusive industry event has not only a star-studded guest list, but also a VIP as patron: Mrs. Christa Thoben, Minister for Economic Affairs, the Middle Class and Energy for North Rhine-Westphalia.

The opening of the VIVIENNE WESTWOOD exhibition in the NRW Forum for Culture and Industry on the first day of the fair promises to be a spectacular event. The designer will personally be supervising the erection of the exhibition and will host the opening herself. VIVIENNE WESTWOOD's unique fashion style will be richly documented, from the beginning—her "Only Anarchists are Pretty" phase—to her work as a professor in Berlin to her eventful shows.

Even the Football World Cup, which takes place in Germany this year, will find its echo Monday evening at CPD. Under the title "Catwalk with Ball", young designers with a sense for the game have designed collections in three categories: "Elements of the Game", "New Fanwear" and "Ballroom Fashion". The fashion show—an initiative of the DFB Culture Foundation—will feature collections from the 30 finalists, with soccer players and players' wives as models.
