Textile industry could take huge advantage of fashion-designing sector, said Kamiar Rokni, a senior member of Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) at its first meeting on Friday.
Infrastructural needs of the fashion industry do not allow Pakistani crafts to enter corporate realm, however, it had grown much in the past decade.
Rokni also added that designers' input could breathe new life into cottage industries, which needed fresh skills and export status to produce up-market creations.
The PFDC would work closely with textile industry to develop fabric and guide manufacturers on the importance of fashion design forecast, etc.
Rokni said the organization would launch a Pakistan fashion week in Oct/Nov in association with textile sector in Karachi and Lahore.
