The first day of the 57th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid featured collections that were not only restrained and wearable but also long-lasting and versatile.

Barcelonan designer Nuria Sarda, from the luxury label Andres Sarda, presented a soft subtle feminine line titled Duality. Based on a rich brighter colour palette of rust, moss green, purple, aubergine and black, the lightweight silk muslin, voile and lace made ensembles were adorned with metal and glass embellishments.

Francis Montesinos drew inspiration from 1960’s Italy’s modern art movement Arte Povera to create his latest Autumn/Winter collection. A delightful amalgamation of tradition and innovation, the range featured blue, green, black, pink and mauve hued outfits topped with dusty spattered prints.

Designer Teresa Helbig, who specializes in combining silk, tulle, beadwork and crochet-work in her dress making techniques, showcased a range of warm, elegant sophisticated designs enriched with hand-crafted embroidery, geometric figures, and optical illusions for women.

Miguel Palacio collection for the women’s clothing label Hoss Intropia was a showcase of myriad silhouettes, ranging from straight lines and draping to airy pleating. The collection included dresses and blouses decorated with geometric prints and disordered motifs.
