NIFT to design KSIC's success

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) have signed an MoU in October 2005, in which, NIFT is designing and developing an entire range of sarees and silk apparel for latter.

NIFT Director S Devadoss informed that the theme for this range is 'Kalpatharu' (wish-fulfilling tree) and KSIC's formal and traditional categories will be incorporated.

Wedding and festival range incorporates traditional prints where as in formal category, women's wear like stoles and sarees, modern prints have been designed, he added.

Kannada film actress Ramya is appointed as the brand ambassador to launch 'Kalpatharu' range of silk products by KSIC.

KSIC's new range will be showcased through a fashion show at a three-day Spectrum 2006 beginning February 6, 2006, informed Devadoss.
