The deep vibrant patterns were composed into textile pieces that were visually inspiring and beautiful. With his mastery over hand weaving, Gaurav had special fabrics created in Fulia, Chanderi, Banaras and Orissa for the men’s and women’s wear.
The languid Orissa Ikat shirt with stainless steel and hand-woven Chanderi trousers, woven cotton silk jacquard top, tetris waistcoat, Ikat dress with cotton wool cape, high twist silk and hand-woven cotton silk for the engineered dress showed textiles in a new light.
The two saris had amazing weaves that were a mix of colour and design. Very innovative was the one length collared dress which proved Gaurav’s skill in construction. The solitary men’s jacket with cotton/silk scarf, kurta shirt and trousers was an easy, comfortable entry.
When it comes to hand woven textures and interesting construction it is apparent that Gaurav Jai Gupta can create some show stopping pieces.
