Footwear maker Wolverine has been chosen to receive a Plus Award for excellence in design in the work footwear category, for the seventh consecutive year. It will be honored with its Plus Award at the World Shoe Association (WSA) Show in Las Vegas today, February 10, 2006.

Greg Dutter, associate publisher and editor in chief of Footwear Plus, said, "Retailers recognize Wolverine's ability to design one of the most durable and comfortable work boots on the market as well as how they have consistently improved upon a great design foundation."

Footwear Plus, a leading trade publication, compiled thousands of votes from footwear retailers, manufacturers and industry leaders to determine this year's award winners.

"We are very appreciative of our retailers' support of Wolverine's efforts," said Ted Gedra, president of the Wolverine Footwear Group. "This award gives us that much more incentive to work harder to continue to earn their trust in the Wolverine brand."

In an effort to build upon its work footwear comfort technologies, Wolverine unveiled the revolutionary Wolverine MultiShox(TM) Individual Comfort System to retailers in July 2004. The line was then introduced to consumers in early 2005.

Wolverine expanded the line in 2005 by adding a new, more flexible direct-attach construction and introducing new designs, including waterproof Wolverine MultiShox styles.

"By combining this innovative comfort technology with rich, flexible leathers and strong designs, we've been able to produce work footwear that meets our consumers' needs," said Gedra.
