The Athlete's Foot launches 1st store in Bangalore

Footwear store The Athlete's Foot has stepped into India by opening their first store at Bangalore. The Athlete's Foot is the world's first franchiser of athletic footwear and is recognized as the world leader in athletic footwear franchising.

The Athlete's Foot spread over 1000 square feet of space presents for the first time a 'specialty sports shoe store” concept to Indian consumers that offers a complete range of internationally famous sports brands and footwear.

The Athlete's Foot focuses on the athletic and active (Athleisure) lifestyles of customers and caters to these lifestyles by providing an assortment of athletic, brown shoe and casual footwear. It offers value through the fundamental values of fit, comfort and performance.

The Athlete's Foot store opened in 1971 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the first athletic footwear specialty store of its kind in the United States.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jim Boinest, Director Asia Pacific Development, Athlete's Foot Marketing Associates, LLC said, “We are happy to enter India in tie up with organization such as Planet Sports which has established the concept of Sports Lifestyle retailing in an important destination such as India”.

“The Athlete's Foot has enjoyed significant growth over the last several years and we intend to continue this growth in the years to come. Leveraging our strengths and brand will help us maintain our leadership position as the world's most widely recognized franchisor of athletic footwear”, he added.
