Pomare's Ltd's Hilo Hattie, a Hawaiian clothing retailer and manufacturer, which does business as Hilo Hattie, announced plans to open a $10 million flagship store in Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center at Waikiki, in early summer of 2007.
The new visitor location confirms to Hilo Hattie's plan to re launch its present 9,000-square-foot Ala Moana Center store into a favorite destination for kamaaina shoppers, said Paul deVille, President and Chief Executive of Pomare Ltd.
It will be the chain's largest and most prominent retail venue. Waikiki is state's $11 billion visitor industry.
Hilo Hattie plans to target changing visitor mix in Waikiki and satisfy demand for quality space on Kalakaua well, said Rosalind Schurgin, Principal of the Festival Cos.
The new store, will offer round-the-clock entertainment, ranging from music and dance to craft lessons along with amenities like shell-lei greeting and juice.
The chain, which opened as Kaluna Hawaii Sportswear 43 years ago, had established its showroom, manufacturing center and warehouse at Nimitz Highway since 1983, said deVille.
Hilo Hattie operates seven stores on all major islands, attracting approximately 2.5 million visitors and kamaaina shoppers each year.
