The fact is that Ritu Beri's first book 'Firefly: A Fairytale' was released by Akshay Kumar at Hotal Hyatt Regency on Saturday.
Earlier, Akshay Kumar said 'no' to the prestigious Filmfare awards function that was held concurrent to the release of the book.
The macho-man added though he was not an ardent book lover, this 'Fairytale' would be the first book to be read by him.
Speaking about her book, Ritu said readers would like to browse through the book as it tells about fashion in a very casual, but in a funny way.
The book focuses on creative things such as architecture, history, women and their beauty; such things spark her creativity, said Ritu.
Apart from revealing proximity of various cultures of the world, the book also narrates several influences on fashion like the intrigue of history, drama of architecture, experimental play of photography, the magic of Paris and refined art.
So far, only 100 copies of the book have been published and will be available at her store and at various book houses at Rs one lakh per copy.
