Vietnamese accessories (backpack, bag, suitcase etc.) exports turnover to Japan attained the humble growth at $ 41.61 million in 2005, up 1.37 percent over 2004 and picking up only 1.2 percent of Japanese market share.
Significantly, Japan is the world biggest importing country of accessories, Ministry of Trade stated.
Japan's entire import turnover of such goods amounted to $ 3.479 billion, a 10.9 percent rise over 2004.
According to industry experts, Vietnam goods are currently facing fierce competition from China which leader of Japanese market and this is due to Vietnamese goods being less innovative (mainly backpack, suitcase and bag with cover made of tanned leather, plastic or knitting - material).
China's 2005 export turnover of accessories to Japan reached registered 16.5 percent year - on - year increase worth $ 1.757 billion and amounting to nearly 50.5 percent of Japanese import turnover.
