Compared to the same period of previous year, the CPI for the first two months of 2006 rose by 1.5 percent due to higher electricity tariffs.
The consumer price index in February 2006 rose by 0.2 Percent over January 2006 due mainly to higher cost of housing and dearer clothing & footwear.
Reflecting dearer ready-made garments and footwear, prices of clothing & footwear went up 1.9 percent.
